How does it work?

The following is an adaptation of the free information booklet we offer with non-internet advertising.  It has all the same information.  The actual booklet has a nice yellow background, instead of this minty green.  So if you prefer to read on a yellow background (or want a booklet for a friend!) your address and I'll post one to you.  Oh and the booklet also has funky pictures of me snoring my head off, on the cover.  Way cool.

Why do we snore?

Awake

Muscles and posture hold the airway open.  There is no obstruction, breathing is unrestricted and quiet.

Sleeping

Muscles relax and the airway becomes obstructed.  Breathing is laboured and noisy.

This partial obstruction of the airway
is the source of most snoring noise
.

Snorer's Friend®  - how does it work?

The Snorer's Friend® is worn in the mouth while sleeping, and holds the snorer's lower jaw in a forward extended position.  This moves the base of the tongue away from the back of the airway and the soft palate, removing the obstruction and restoring quiet breathing.

The Snorer's Friend® is quite comfortable to wear.  You mould it to your teeth (after softening it in hot water) when you first get it.  You then have a device which fits your mouth perfectly.  It can take a little getting used to, but most people find that it's worth it!

Who can use the Snorer's Friend®?w

The Snorer's Friend® is suitable for healthy adults who wish to reduce the volume and frequency of their snoring.  It is unsuitable for children, for people with a history of epilepsy, and for people with significant Obstructive Sleep Apnea (see notes in following section).  If you do not have a full and healthy set of teeth, or if you suffer from gum problems, you may still be able to use the Snorer's Friend® but please contact us first to discuss some special guidelines you should follow.

Will it really work for me?

wProbably, yes.  Most clinical studies with similar devices report that 80% of subjects feel that they achieve adequate control of their snoring.

Of course, we don't want 20% of our customers to feel they have bought a useless product, so we offer a money-back guarantee.

Try the device out.  If you are not happy with it, for any reason at all, within 4 months of purchase, just let us know and we will send all your money back immediately.  There's no need to return the device, because we couldn't reuse any of the components.  Just ring us and let us know you'd like a refund.

You'll get your money back, with no argument.

Please don't hesitate to use this option.  Our business plan allows for 20% refunds.  The Snorer's Friend® is a genuinely useful product, but unfortunately it doesn't work for everyone.  No snoring cure does.  We believe that by providing prompt and courteous refunds we can ensure that our product is taken seriously, and gains a great reputation.

What about side effects?

Good side effects

Most snorers that start using a Snorer's Friend® notice that they feel much better during the day.  This is because snoring is a sign that the airway is partially obstructed. It is very difficult to get good quality sleep with an obstructed airway, because the snorer's body is continually struggling to breathe.  So with a Snorer's Friend®, snorers wake up feeling more refreshed.

If the snorer shares a bed with someone, that person will also benefit from getting better sleep.  Usually the relationship will improve too!

Not-so-good side effects

Some unwanted side effects can occur with the Snorer's Friend®.  Usually these are not serious and don't last for more than 2 weeks.  There is more detail on the instructions included with the device, but reported side effects include :
(1) a sore jaw joint (temporomandibular joint),

(2) sore teeth and gradual tooth movement,

(3) gum problems and

(4) excessive salivation.

If you decide to stop using the device because of any side effects, you are entitled to a full refund as explained above.
